Kodak DCS 520 / Canon EOS D2000

Kodak and Canon have released an update to the EOS DCS3 released in July of 1995. The DCS 520 has a larger CCD (sensor), both in terms of resolution (2MP vs 1.3MP) and physical size (from 58.9% to 62.5% of 35mm film) which should help both with resolution and noise. The DCS 520 also introduces a removable anti-aliasing filter in front of the sensor to reduce moiré when photographing highly textured patterns.

The DCS 520 has significantly reduced the bulk of the Kodak DCS additions, making it the most manageable digital camera yet. Its technical specs have also been boosted to allow for faster action, increasing its internal shot buffer to 24MB allowing for 3.5 frames per second bursts for up to 12 shots, it offering selectable equivalent sensitivities to ISO-200 through ISO-1600 film. The DCS 520 is a necessary upgrade for digital users requiring quicker shooting, from photojournalists to sports.
