We covered Creo/Leaf last year when we talked about medium format. At the time, Leaf had released a new back which could be used untethered from a personal computer—although it still required a PDA or palm computer to be attached for some elements. We mentioned in passing the day before that the Hasselblad H1 would ship with backs from two different providers, Kodak—who announced this year that they've stopped making medium format backs—and Phase One. Phase One has quite of experience creating medium format backs as well, and they've recently released their new P25 and P20 backs which are entirely contained backs (i.e. they don't need an iPaq attached like the Leaf Valeo does). Unlike the Leaf Valeo, it takes removable compact flash memory rather than connecting to external hard drives; if you need to infinite storage this provides additional flexibility. The 22MP almost 6x4.5cm P25 goes or about $30k while the smaller, rectangular, and 16MP P20 is about $17k.
