Sony's ultracompact DSC-TX5 is a great JPEG-only pocket camera whether you are hitting the town, the beach, or the slopes. The 10MP cameras has a 28mm-112mm (equivalent) zoom range and is waterproof (10ft for an hour), freezeproof (14°F or -10°C), and designed to withstand drops from five feet. In a nod towards civility, it also takes standard SD/SDHC cards [but not SDXC].
