Kodak DCS 560 / Canon EOS D6000

Kodak and Canon have announced their second camera on the DCS 500 platform, following the release of the DCS 520 (EOS D2000) at the beginning of the year. The DCS 560 (or EOS D6000) replaces the EOS DCS-1 at the top of the digital camera market, and does so with a suggested price of $29,995. While the DCS 520 featured up to ISO-1600 and 3.5 fps, the DCS 560 is at home in studio shots. The DCS 560 offers lower ISO equivalents of only 80 and 200 and at one frame per second–and then only for three shots.

The benefits over the DCS 520, for those able to pay, are to be found in the larger (77% the size of 35mm film) 6MP sensor. The DCS 560 also includes the anti-alias filter introduced with the DCS 520 which will help with scenes that have a high-frequency repeating pattern, such as many textiles you might find in fashion shoots.
